Dr. Tinca Prunea-Bretonnet

Principal Investigator

Tinca Prunea-Bretonnet is Researcher at the Institute for Philosophy and Psychology of the Romanian Academy. Her work focuses on Kant and the German Enlightenment, as well as on the French Enlightenment and the reception of Kant’s philosophy in the twentieth century. Her recent publications include the monograph L’avènement de la métaphysique kantienne. Prémisses et enjeux d’une réception au XXe siècle (Classiques Garnier 2023) and the edited volumes Debates, Controversies, and Prizes: The Philosophy in the German Enlightenment (Bloomsbury 2024, with Ch. Leduc), The Berlin Academy in the Reign of Frederick the Great: Philosophy and Science (Oxford University Studies in the Enlightenment, Liverpool UP 2022, with P. R. Anstey), and The Experiential Turn in Eighteenth-Century German Philosophy (Routledge 2021, with K. de Boer).

Prof. Sorana Corneanu

Senior Researcher

Sorana Corneanu is Professor of English at the University of Bucharest, Romania. She is the author of Regimens of the Mind: Boyle, Locke and the Early Modern Cultura Animi Tradition (Chicago, 2011) and of essays on early modern conceptions of the epistemic virtues, the imagination, and the art of thinking. She is also co-editor of collective volumes on Francis Bacon, the early modern care of the self, the history of the disciplines, and seventeenth- and eighteenth-century regulative logic. She is senior researcher in this project.

Dr. Alin Varciu

Dr. Alin Varciu

Postdoctoral Researcher

Alin Varciu has obtained his M.A. in Philosophy from CEU Budapest in 2017 and received his PhD from Western University (Canada) in 2024. His current research interests include Early Modern German Philosophy and Kant's Metaphysics. He is post-doctoral researcher in this project.
